Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state Nigeria recently opened our eyes to the health benefits of black seed oil when he revealed a medical doctor recommended the usage for him as part of his treatment for coronavirus.

Governor Makinde had on the 30th of March announced he would be self-isolating as he had tested positive to coronavirus.

However, about two weeks ago, the governor declared he had tested negative to the virus and would be resuming official duties.

He said, “My very good friend and brother, Dr Muyideen Olatunji is the one in charge of the primary healthcare for Oyo State. He came to me and said, look, I am going to send to you this black seed oil, it boosts immunity. So, I mixed it with honey and took one teaspoon in the morning and one in the evening.

So what are the health benefits of black seed oil?

It Boosts Immunity

The body immune system is our protector or shields against foreign invaders. When the immune system is weak and stressed out, the body will become vulnerable and open to bacterias and viral attacks. The black seed oil contains essential amino acids. These amino acids are like messengers that carry different vitamins to the needed parts of the body, thereby, ensuring body organs and systems functions effectively.

High Blood Pressure

Black seed oil is known to have properties that can help control high blood pressure. Taking the oil consistently for 2 months will bring results.

The oil has anti-inflammatory properties and therefore can help in reducing the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
