Coronavirus: Lagos to Go on ‘Lockdown’ from Thursday

He announced a reduction of the maximum number of public gathering allowed from 50 to 25 people.

As part of efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus, the Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered all banks, offices, markets and courts in the state be closed starting from Thursday.

Governor Sanwo gave the directive after a meeting of the state security council.

The governor, however, said it is not a lockdown but the directive must be followed for the next seven days.

He announced a reduction of the maximum number of public gathering allowed from 50 to 25 people.

He also said all travels to Lagos by road or air are no longer encouraged.

He noted security agents have been directed to strictly follow the order so anyone who goes against the directives will be dealt with.
