Coronavirus: Oyo Govt to Impose Restrictions Following a Suspected Case

The affected person, who is reportedly in his 50s has been placed on self-isolation in his residence located in Bodija, Ibadan.

The Oyo state government may soon join other states in placing restrictions on large public gatherings in the state.

This is coming after the discovery of a suspected case of coronavirus in the state.

The affected person, who is reportedly in his 50s has been placed on self-isolation in his residence located in Bodija, Ibadan.

His blood sample has also been collected and sent to the disease control centre in Lagos for testing. The result is expected to be in by Friday.

The man, whose temperature spiked to 37.9 celsius recently arrived in Ibadan from the UK.

His neighbour who had noticed his symptom alerted the government about his condition.

It was also gathered the person whose case was confirmed in Ekiti state had stayed in Ibadan for 10 days before travelling down to Ekiti.

The state government will address the people today, Thursday to announce its plan of action.
