Coronavirus: RCCG Releases Instructions on How Service Should Be Conducted

He added that parishes whose members are 50 or less could conduct their normal services without any modification.

As a result of the directives by the Ogun and Lagos state government restricting any form of a gathering of more than 50 people, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has directed all parishes in the two states not to allow more than 50 people in a service.

This was contained in a memo released by the church’s assistant general overseer of administration and personnel.

He added that parishes whose members are 50 or less could conduct their normal services without any modification.

The Cable reports that parishes with more than 50 members should run simultaneous services with the main church through their house fellowship centres.

“Parishes that have the facility to run more than one service can also do so, under the strict directive that worshipers won’t exceed 50 people per service,” he said.

In other news, a video message concerning coronavirus posted by the general overseer of the church, Pastor E.A Adeboye has sparked different reactions online.

In the message, Pastor Adeboye had assured Christians of Gods, protection. He said,

“I want to assure you that there’s no virus that’ll come near you at all because it is written that he who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadows of the almighty,” he said.

“I believe that this is a time for God to show you that there’s a difference between those who serve him wholeheartedly and those who do not.  It shall be well with you. You’ll have peace and good health.”

Many were however outraged, asking if there are no Christians among those that lost their lives to the virus.
