COVID-19: Ondo Govt, CAN Cancels Easter Sunday Services

The discovery of another index case is an eye opener towards the danger of people converging in large numbers during this ravaging pandemic.

As a result of the discovery of the second case of COVID-19 in Ondo state, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ondo state council has cancelled Easter Sunday service across the state.

It will be recalled that the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu lifted the stay at home order so Christians could celebrate Easter.

Through a press release signed by the state chairman, CAN, Rev.Dr Ayo Oladapo has ordered Christians in the state to hold their Easter Sunday services in their respective homes.

Likewise, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has also released a statement to cancel the Easter celebration.

The Ondo governor said, “I’ve heard you all and your concerns on the need to #LockDownOndo. I have just concluded a meeting with CAN and we have resolved that the services will not hold again. Thanks for your concerns. Stay blessed and Happy Easter to all.”
