My Dethronement Was Badly Done, I Could Challenge it – Muhammad Sanusi II

The deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has said it is so easy to challenge his removal in a court of law if he wanted as the whole plan was badly planned and executed.

In a video available on the social media, Sanusi said even though he could fight for his former position, he is no longer interested in going back to being an emir as he has given his best.

He said, “I have done what I could in six years, I’m moving on. I don’t want to go back. The truth is, if I had wanted to go back, the dethronement letter was so badly written, it was not done professionally. The easiest thing is just to go to court,” he said.

“It’s a simple, fair hearing, ‘did you query him? Did you ask him to defend himself? Did you even call him to ask him any question?’ That’s all but I think we should go on to a new phase in life.”

Muhammad Sanusi II who was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria before becoming an emir was dethroned on Monday.

He was then banished to Awe town in Nassarawa state, a move that sparked outrage in different quarters. Watch video below
