Drama as COVID-19 Patients Held Health Workers Hostage in Kano

It was a dramatic moment at one of the COVID-19 isolation centers in Kano state when some coronavirus patients held some health workers hostage

The former chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Kano branch, Aminu Mohammed made this know while speaking on a radio programme on Friday.

According to him, two medical doctors and one nurse at the Kwanar Dawaki Isolation Centre were held hostage by the patients when they were making a ward round for routine check.

He said the coronavirus patients locked the doctors up in a room for some hours

Speaking further, he revealed the health workers who have been battling with inadequate personal protective equipment (PPEs) still need to face manage hostile patients.

He, therefore, appealed to members of the public to corporate with doctors and nurses so that they won’t get discouraged.

Tijjani Husaini, head of Kano COVID-19 technical response team, however, denied having a knowledge of the incidence when he was contacted by TheCable

Kano has the second highest number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria with 482 confirmed cases.
