Five persons suspected to be cultists have been killed in several parts of Ughelli North local government area of Delta state as a result of a clash between two rival cult groups fighting for supremacy.
This is coming barely twenty-four hours after Galaxy news reported that residents in Warri and environs are calling for police presence in streets to prevent the increase in crime rate within Warri and Uvwie local government areas.
Speaking on the killings, the president-general of Ekiugbo and Ughelli where the killings took place said they have declared emergency in affected areas.
Delta police spokesperson Onome Onowakpoyeya who confirmed the killings, said they are doing their best to bring the perpetrators to book.
Meanwhile, some cult groups went on a rampage in the community attacking commercial motorcycle operators and motorists.
