The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said beginning from the 21st of December 2020, National Identification Number (NIN) will be part of the requirement for the processing of driver’s license across the country.
This was made known by the Corps’ Public Education Officer, Mr. Bisi Kazeem in a statement he released on Wednesday.
Kazeem said all applicants must present their National Identification Number, this, he said is to enable the government to create a unified data system.
The statement reads:
“Following the Federal Government’s directives on the harmonization of citizens’ data by relevant agencies, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) had in compliance with the directives earlier put members of the public on notice.
“As a follow up to that, FRSC Management has resolved that effective 21 December 2020, all applicants for the National Driver’s License in Nigeria must present the National Identification Number (NIN) from the @nimc_ng before they can be captured for any class of the licenses produced by the FRSC.”
