Football legend and former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba has announced his 10-year-old marriage to Lalla Diakate is over.
Drogba made the disclosure following different reactions that trailed a viral video where he was seen in bed with a woman whose identity is still a mystery.
The 4year-old former footballer met Lalla in Paris in the late 90s but the couple got married in 2011.
Drogba, who had always maintained a very private life, shielding his family from the public was forced to talk about his marriage after photos and clips of him with the woman appeared online.
Taking to his Instagram account, he wrote, “I’m not in the habit of discussing my private life.
“But, because of speculation in the media today, I can confirm that sadly, after 20 years together, Lalla and I took the difficult decision to separate last year.
“We remain very close, and our main priorities have been to protect our children and our family’s private life.
“May God bless you.”
