Manchester United have extended the contract of Nemanja Matic by three years. The midfielder, who was uncertain about his stay in the club was able to force his way into the team after the injury of Scott Mctominay.
The midfielder triggered the one year clause in his deal in March, but the Old Trafford team have rewarded the player for a good job with three years contract that will run till 2023.
He joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2017 after 3 and a half years with the London club. He has 114 appearances for United scoring 4 goals.
The 31-year old told the club’s website “I am very happy that I will continue to be part of this great club, This is a really exciting team to be part of, we have a good balance of youth and experience within the squad and there is a great comradery amongst the group.
He further explained, this a key part of the season and we are playing well. We will continue to fight to finish the season on a high note and make our amazing supporters proud” he concluded.
