Mourinho Speaks on Rift with Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has denied having any form of rift with his midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

There was a report on Tuesday night from the French news outlet that Ndombele told the Spurs manager he no longer want to play for him again.

Over the past months, the player has been subjected to criticism due to issues with his fitness, which has limited his playing time with the club. And since the return of premier league, the player has not played a single match.

Mourinho denied the report saying there is no problem between him and the club-record signing.

Speaking to SkySports after Tottenham 2-0 wins against West Ham on the bench was Tanguy, [Ryan] Sessegnon, Toby [Alderweireld], [Jan] Vertonghen, Gedson [Fernandes] without playing, Mourinho said, “That’s football. For me there’s nothing. I had attacking players on the bench, [Erik] Lamela and [Steven] Bergwijn. Two great players to bring on and then Winks to give us more consistency.”

He added, “Sometimes I apologise to my players that are not my first choice because I feel their work in training deserves something more than I give but I have to do my job the best I can and I felt for these two matches I didn’t need him.”
